Since 2010, Lamey Wellehan has been collecting gently worn footwear graciously donated by our guests. Together, with partnering non-profits and numerous school districts across the state of Maine, we’ve worked diligently to get footwear to families in need. As we approach the winter months, the demand for warm and waterproof boots for Maine families grows exponentially. This year proves to be no different. We need your help to ensure Maine children and their families have the boots they need to enjoy a Maine winter.
It’s easy to help! We have donation receptacles in all six of our retail locations. Just bring your gently worn, warm and waterproof boots to your local Lamey Wellehan. Whether you’re shopping for new boots for your family, or just cleaning out your closets, you can drop off your donation during business hours seven days a week. A complete list of our locations can be found here: https://www.lwshoes.com/pages/locations
We know it’s important to folks to ensure their donations are making it to a Maine family in need. That’s why at Lamey Wellehan, we work with partners who share the same goal as us – to uplift our communities. Through the years, we’ve partnered with countless school districts across the state of Maine by working with administrators to ensure their students have warm feet throughout the winter. We’ve had the pleasure of aiding the good and important work done by countless nonprofits across the state including, but not limited to; Community Concepts, Maine Needs, The Opportunity Alliance, Papa’s Boots, Catholic Charities and others.
If you or someone you know has a need, we encourage you to reach out to your local nonprofit or school department. As we continue to grow our Boots for Families initiative, we rely on outreach of our partners to ensure our collected boots reach Mainers from York to Aroostook counties. We will not rest until all Maine families have warm & dry feet all winter.
