These are my first Salamons and I'm impressed. They have excellent traction on gravel roads and trails, and the foam is soft but not too soft. I wanted shoes with a roomy toe box and these fit the bill. Just be aware that you will need to order a half size down for these. I normally wear 10.5 in Asics, Nike, Saucony, Altra and I ordered a 10 based on other reviews. The shoes fit perfectly.
