The addition of AltraEgo foam is an innovative update and gives runners a more responsive and plush underfoot feel. With an engineered mesh upper and a durable outsole, the Altra Torin 5 is lighter and more comfortable than before.

Horrible tongue design

I have multiple prior versions of Torins and think these shoes include the best of those, but there is a fatal flaw making them essentially unwearable. That flaw is the thin plastic tongue. Not sure who thought that was a good idea or if anyone at Altra tried them on before okaying the design, but it is a disturbing failure on the companies part.
